1- Shave the hair around the anus and vulva completely.
2- Clean the patients with a perineal wash or other Ph neutral detergent and Pat the skin dry with a soft cloth, avoiding rubbing motions which may cause irritations and abrasions to the skin.
Anal Bag Application
1- Turn the patient onto his/her side.
2- Fold the bag lengthwise, forming two exact halves.
3- Hold the folded bag in your right hand and ensure that the valve is positioned BETWEEN THE LEGS and is not in contact with the thighs or the sacrum.
4- Remove the middle adhesive backing paper marked and gently apply to the skin around the anal orifice, ensuring that the triangular openings are positioned exactly around the middle of the opening.
5- Then, remove the upper release paper marked and apply to the buttocks ensuring good adherence, and lastly, remove the last piece of adhesive backing paper, and apply to the opposing buttock and secure its adherence as shown in the diagram.
Removing The Bag
1- Using gloves, carefully detach the adhesive areas (special care should be taken if there are hairs) and fold in half. Doing so causes the bag to close and seal immediately, prevanting the accidental spillage of the contents.
2- Clean the perianal area with a damp sponge soaked in pH neutral liquid soap.
3- Pat the skin dry with a soft cloth, avoiding rubbing mnotions which may cause irritations and abrasions to the skin.
4- Position a new ANAL BAG, following the drections above, onto the dry skin.
